Betsy Friedlander, President

Betsy Friedlander, an expert in the fields of search and career transition coaching, excels at conducting executive searches for organizations. She also has provided career coaching and executive coaching to hundreds of people throughout the United States, in addition to speaking to audiences around the country about creating career options.

Betsy has worked in many private sector industries, including finance, health care, information technology, telecommunications, government contracting, professional consulting, and public relations. She also consults with the not-for-profit world and the Federal government. She has provided guidance to university career centers and has worked with American University, Georgetown University, University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business, and George Washington University. Betsy has grown three separate businesses during her distinguished career.

She is the author of the manual How to Land Job Offers: The Art of Generating Job Opportunities and an article on “The Invisible Resume.” Most recently, Betsy’s unique approach to coaching was showcased on NBC News. She holds a B.A. from Boston University and an M.S. from Boston University, Sargent College.

Gayle Becker

Gayle Becker is a skilled coach, trainer and public speaker with over 30 years of experience helping businesses and individuals meet and exceed their goals. Along the way, she has received numerous awards and letters of performance recognition for dramatically increasing sales, building customer bases, expanding operations, creating new divisions and launching entire businesses from scratch.

She has parlayed that insight and success into a career of guiding others through their careers. In addition to capitalizing on her own on-the-job knowledge, she brings with her decades of study and professional development training. A graduate of The Entrepreneur’s Source Academy and E-Myth Worldwide, Gayle also holds the Certified Career and Business Coach designation from Franchise Source Brands International.

As a career coach, Gayle meets clients who are at a crossroads in their life…by choice or force. Regardless of their circumstances, Gayle gives her clients confidence, action steps and a solid plan for the future. For clients seeking re-employment, she assesses their transferable skills and then helps them prepare for change with successful resumes, marketing plans, search techniques and interview tactics. For clients pursuing self-employment, she conducts a similar discovery process and ultimately matches their expertise with optimal franchise opportunities.

As a business coach, Gayle has advised organizations of varying sizes, industries and stages of maturity. She evaluates companies on key operations such as leadership, marketing, management, sales strategies, production and cost controls. After identifying problem areas, she develops strategies for improvement.

A talented communicator, Gayle has been featured as an expert in the Baltimore Business Journal, on local radio and on ABC2 News’ Get Back 2 Work segments. In demand as a speaker, she has led workshops, talks and roundtable discussions for local, state and national trade associations and business organizations. Additionally, Gayle is an active member in many entrepreneurship, franchise and networking organizations, and is an immediate past president of Business Networking International.

Bernadine Browne

Bernardine is an Executive Career Coach and Business Management Consultant. Prior to her consulting in career management, employee relations, leadership development and executive coaching, Bernardine served as Human Resource Administrator for Inova Health Systems in Northern Virginia, serving on key change management committees, developing new employee satisfaction assessment tools and coordinating the action planning process across the system.. She also held multiple process improvement, quality, and human resource positions at Xerox Corporation in New York, Chicago and Washington, DC introducing cutting edge programs within the company and to customers.

Bernardine draws on her organizational knowledge and experience in managing staff and business operations as well as her functional expertise in performance management, employee relations, development and training to bring value to her clients. Her business insight along with excellent coaching and facilitation skills quickly generate confidence and trust. Bernardine is adept at helping clients to recognize and maximize their career options and facilitate realization of their professional and life goals.

Bernardine holds dual MBA degrees in the areas of Organizational Behavior and Labor/Human Resources and a BS in Marketing from Ohio State University. She participates in a number of professional organizations including the Society for Human Resource Management and the Institute of Management Consultants.

Betsy Caine

Betsy Caine is a senior consultant, with more than 25 years of demonstrated expertise in improving organizational performance, specializing in career coaching and cultivating leadership talent in organizations. Her portfolio includes experience in organization development, group facilitation, strategic planning, leadership, career coaching and consulting, and internal strategic communications. A results-oriented professional with outstanding client management skills, she brings a keen sense of intuition and insight about human behavior (within the context of the organization), and the ability to grasp complex client issues within organizational systems. Using a highly collaborative approach, she builds strong partnerships with clients to achieve lasting results.

Betsy has worked extensively with the health care industry, nonprofit entities, and government. She has a Master’s in Human Resource Development and a certificate of Change Management and Organization Development from Georgetown University.

Lindsay P. Conn

Lindsay Conn graduated with a BA from Denison University. She has spent her career providing consulting to the business community, providing search consulting and coaching individuals through change. She has been a certified Coach for close to ten years.

As a business consultant Lindsey served as the Executive Director for the Alliance for Workplace Excellence (AWE) where she partnered with employers in both the nonprofit and private business sectors to design award-winning talent management strategies. During her tenure as Executive Director, over 200 employers received recognition as “Excellent Places to Work” for positioning talent management as a strategic business imperative.

As a search consultant, Lindsey joined Willmott & Associates, a boutique search firm focused on the strategic placement of human resource executives. As a Senior Consultant for the firm she worked with employers to understand their unique talent management needs and to create recruitment strategies tailored to meet those needs. In this capacity, she also served both as a recruiter and career and leadership coach for Willmott’s vast clientele.

As a career coach, Lindsey partners with her clients around leadership development and career development.

Robert (Bob) DeFilippis

Mr. De Filippis is a 40-year veteran of corporate life from line operations to the senior executive suite. He entered the career transition business as a partner in Executive Assets, in Philadelphia in 1991, eventually becoming the sole owner and CEO of Career Partners International – The Chesapeake Group, based in Mclean, VA. After selling the company to Lee Hecht Harrison he stayed on for two years as Regional Senior Vice President of the Mid-Atlantic Region. Well-versed in the applied behavior sciences, he also possesses a wealth of practical experience. Mr. De Filippis has worked with companies in the US, South America, Western and Eastern Europe. He is the author of the book: You, Your SELF and the 21st Century: Coaching Yourself and others in Postmodern Times, with an introduction to The Birkman Method® Mr. De Filippis is a certified Birkman consultant and trainer and uses The Birkman Method® in a unique way, focusing on the examination of a client’s subconscious rules for engaging the world and linguistically reconstructing them for more effective behaviors and greater possibilities in their lives.

Nancy Greystone

Nancy Greystone has a Bachelor of Science from Northwestern University and a Master’s of Fine Arts from Columbia University. Her expertise is in Communications, specifically the fields of media & message coaching, and writing. She gives her clients the tools to communicate their ideas clearly, concisely and compellingly.

Nancy has worked in industries including healthcare, architecture, engineering, design, public relations and entertainment. Her work has also been provided to public and private universities, as well as candidates pursuing political office. Additionally, Nancy has also provided consulting in the not for profit arena.

Ms. Greystone coaches candidates for maximum impact. Her clients live across the United States, and abroad. Through Nancy’s work they uncover their core message, and then use it to speak on-point in one-on-one situations, small groups, large presentations, or on Capitol Hill.

Jill Krumholz

Ms. Krumholz is a graduate of Fordham University with a Master’s of Science in Industrial Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts from The City University of New York City College.  She has been interviewed for and appeared in Human Resource Executive Online and quoted in newspaper career columns discussing women in business, and other talent acquisition topics

Jill Krumholz is an executive search professional who leverages a twenty year career in executive recruiting, corporate human resources, career transition coaching, and operations management.  As a search consultant and business owner, she brings an understanding of organizations, an ability to identify cultural fit, and knowledge of the marketplace.

Jill conducts searches for senior management positions across industries including new media, publishing, financial and professional services, and information technology. Her clients include large Fortune 500 as well as start-up companies in both public and private sectors. She has completed assignments for domestic and overseas roles.

Vernita Parker

Vernita Parker has a Bachelor of Science in Consumer Economics and a Master’s of Education in Counseling and Personnel Services, both from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is also a certified Integral Coach through New Ventures West. Vernita has expertise in executive and leadership coaching, organization development and career development. She created an award winning executive coaching program (2005 ASTD Excellence and Practice Award) for a global strategy and technology consulting firm, and published an article on the Business Impact of Executive Coaching: Demonstrating Monetary Value

Vernita has worked in the private sector in industries including retail, business solutions, and professional consulting. She has also worked in academia and provided consulting services to the Federal Government.

Ms. Parker has provided coaching, leadership and organization development services to executive level clients, and emerging leaders. She has also provided career development services to organizations and individuals throughout the United States. She is currently a consultant with Friedlander Partners, LLC

Joe Ryan

Joe Ryan has coached more than 1,000 clients through successful transitions. He helps them make the best possible career choices by taking into account their characteristics and requirements, including core competencies, interest in and willingness to accept the challenges of a new role, alignment of personal values with the values and culture of a new organization, achieving appropriate compensation that recognizes value, and adapting to the realities of supply and demand in the marketplace. He also coaches people on choosing active retirement options and second career choices.

Joe has extensive private sector, nonprofit, and government experience in career management, career transition, executive development and coaching, executive search, human resources, and management consulting. His industry experience includes telecom, financial services, pharma, health care, high-tech, law, utilities, new media, and trade, professional, and membership associations. He also has completed numerous executive searches, including C-Suite executives and presidential appointees as a member of the White House staff.

Joe is certified in a modified version of Birkman (Birkman First Look), Retirement Options (retirement and work life planning), and MRG assessments, including Strategic Leadership Development, Leadership Effectiveness Analysis, Leadership 360°, and Appraise Your World. He holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Manhattan College and pursued studies toward an MBA at New York University.

Vern Schellenger

Vern earned his Masters degree in Leadership and Organizational Change at George Washington University. He is a member of SHRM and holds certification as a Senior Human Resources Professional. Other memberships include the American Society for Training & Development and the HR Leadership Forum of Greater Washington and the Human Resource Planning Society.

Vern is an accomplished Human Resource professional with more than 25 years of experience with organizations as diverse as Dunkin Donuts, the American Chemistry Council, Lee Hecht Harrison and the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators. His extensive background in human resource development and broad-based business experience means that he helps clients see the “big picture” while at the same time taking the specific actions necessary to achieve success.

His areas of expertise include business and professional networking, career development, career management and transition, human resource management, training design and delivery, organizational development, change management, performance management and improvement, total quality management and customer service. He’s delivered keynotes for groups at Princeton University, SHRM, the Smithsonian Institution, and Georgetown University McDonough School of Business.
